Hi Guys- I live in Central Texas and i just pulled the trigger on a 1969 Convertible Camaro. I originally had a 1969 SS 350 hardtop all original and of course i was a big dummy and sold it before i went to college in the mid 80's- Fast forward 35 years and here I am. I have a couple of basic questions, this car is in pretty solid shape as far as the body is concerned( supposedly a Texas car) I do need to buy replacement parts for interior etc. Do most people go to places like Rick's Camaro for example to buy parts? Also this car is supposedly an SS- however since it is a Conv and no X code is there a way to tell if it was?

Thank you and will post pictures soon.
Mark

There are clues to look for in determining how it left the factory. How much of the drive train is original? Does it have the plate welded to the frame inside the drivers side rear time for dual exhaust? Automatic or standard? 12 bolt rear end? Disc brakes? What is the build date and which plant built the car? Answering these questions will give some clues and prompt other questions.

Welcome, Carl, to the Club.
Read up over at www.camaros.org for more SS info.
Russ is suggesting looking for an index card size plate welded to left side of drvr rear frame rail just behind the rear wheel.
Heartbeat City may be a better source for better fitting parts as repro parts from other vendors are good for daily drivers.
