What is the casting and stamped numbers on the block and the transmission? I would expect the block to be for a 68 Camaro but not sure about the M22 since an M22 was not an option with the L48.

casting # 3892657 casting date # h126 stamped engine code is VO817MS,,, it was late when we wiped the greae off the other nite to id it. I instantly recognized the MS code but we misread on the greasy block for the date. correct me if I'm wrong but that's Aug of 66 and that makes this one of the very first 350s doesn't it?. heads are not original they have accessory holes. The M22 is Sold, anyway these were just pulled out of a car I bought for parts and it has one hell of a story with it,with its ending of a shop fire and the building falling in on it. I took a pictures on my phone and my try to post one to this if I can figure it out,LOL. this engine should probably go to a worthy restoration

That would be an early SS 350 and one of the first Chevrolet 350's ever built. What is the partial vin stamped on the pad? If you cant post pictures send them to me and I will post them for you. rafbody@aol.com

7n121237, I did a lil research so it was cast in aug 66 then assembled sometime before Oct 66 when it was put into that Camaro on the assembly line. so yes it is one of the very first 350s ever out of the like # billion made lol. I would like to see it go to the right car. as I said it has the wrong head but I am pretty sure I have the correct head but with a casting of aug 67 not 66. I may keep this piece idk?
