This group started back in November of 2008 with this post on the Team Camaro website "I'm curious, how many members live near Chicago's South Suburbs? I think it would be cool to get together and bench race during the winter and help each other out during the warmer months. Maybe a Team Camaro Chicago Chapter? I've got my '69 and my buddy has his '98 SLP SS. That's 2. Anybody else?

After several posts, Tim suggested Dec. 3rd at the Hooters in Orland Park as our first meeting, and South Side Camaro's was born.

We met for the next few cold months at Hooter's and then on April 11th our first road trip to Turtle Head Lake.

It was Mike, Tom, Al with his Nova & myself. A small start, but a begining non the less.
Over the early summer we met at cruise nights at Applebees, the Lemont Classic Club nights and others. Mostly 3-4 of us.

In June a picture and short comment I sent to Camaro Performer was published.

In August we started to get busy, on the 5th we took a roadtrip to Tom's for pizza & beer.
On the 9th a few of us met at the Super Chevy Show in Joliet Il.

On the 21st I entered Hotchkis "Performance Therapy" Contest with this photo
of my engine swap, and eventually won best "garage scene".

On the 23rd we had our largest gathering of cars yet, again at Turtlehead lake.

And on the 30th we invaded Jim's very nice place for a bar-b-q where Tom crashed my 1/8 scale Ferrari into a mailbox.
In Sept. Tom made us all envious with a trip to drive his Z at Road America. In Oct. Tom & Jeff went to Route 41 in Indiana where Tom drove the Z and Jeff abused a 6 Cyl. 2010 Camaro rental car.
In December we put together our own 2010 calendar and went to Schwartz Performance for a shop tour. In Feb. we are going to Route 66 Motorsports for another shop tour.
If you are within an hour or so of us, join us for good times with guys that understand your passion & love for Camaro's. And do more than type about it!
