Watch the second gen video posted by SLO Z28 on the last page and tell me what you guys think about the lateral movement of the rear end. Seams excessive and more than body roll and sidewall flex.

Yes. I could see it pretty clearly from 23 to about 36 seconds, the rest of the run the tire is in shadow.
Looks like the rear end is shifting under the car about 4 inches!!!
Not a perspective I've ever seen before tho, maybe an optical delusion?

Or maybe some worn rubber leaf spring bushings?

"Articulate?" Maybe I'm wrong but after watching many autocross, road race, and other automotive videos, reading endless articles and looking at various suspension set ups I believe that the rear suspension works best when it moves freely vertically and independently side to side. I have a problem accepting horizontal movement is the next great performance trend. Sounds like a recipe for catastrophic tire damage to me. But the carnage that follows could be amusing.

Some people think I'm out of my mind, but in my defense it's pretty scary in there!

His latest comment says that movement is "by Design". Every thing I've ever read says you don't want it to do that. I don't understand how it can move that far and not rub on something. If he starts selling the parts and winning autocross withthose cars then we will hwve to take him seriously.

Tire flex my A$$. that rear was slippin-n-sliddin like the drive shaft was the only thing holding it under the car. Sure there was some tire flex but that rear was just a swinging. I'll admit in a rock crawler or trail rig you want as much suspension articulation as you can, and in drag racing you want as much weight transfer as you can, but in autocross your trying to eliminate body roll and keep the car a flat as possible. That car has to feel like your driving on ice when he takes a corner as well. After all that's why there's triangulated 4 links pan hard bars on ladder bar and 4 link set ups, and wishbones on 3 links.
